Judgment & Forgiveness: the contradictions.

HUMILITY & PRIDE

Humility is not:
            Merely seeing yourself as
            weak, unintelligent, unattractive, etc.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
            What if you are
            weak, unintelligent, unattractive, etc?
            Does that make you humble?
            No.  Not necessarily.

Humility is to put truth first.

Pride is not:
            Merely seeing yourself as
            strong, intelligent, attractive, etc.

            What if you are
            strong, intelligent, attractive, etc?
            Does that make you proud?
            No.  Not necessarily.

Pride is to put yourself first.

.

Humility produces accurate knowledge, inside you, of:

            God’s . . qualities abilities achievements
            your . . . . qualities abilities achievements failures
            other’s . . qualities abilities achievements failures

and how you compare with everyone.

Pride produces inaccurate knowledge, inside you, of:

            God’s . . qualities abilities achievements
            your . . . . qualities abilities achievements failures
            other’s . . qualities abilities achievements failures

and how you compare with everyone.

SO, ADDING HUMILITY TO THE EQUATIONS

JUDGMENT TO COME

BELIEF GOD FORGAVE
US ALL

Jesus said that proudly doing good
does not impress God:

Matt c6 v1-18:
      Don’t be a religious hypocrite,
      all for show
.   my abbreviation

Hence Jesus implied
that you must humbly earn
your way to Heaven.

Merely to want to
rely on, lean on:
      the righteousness
      that the Cross gave
and never again:
      on your own righteousness,
means you’ll already
have needed humility.

While you are humbly doing good
you probably don’t think about
the reward of going to Heaven.

You probably just do it
out of self-expression.

Hence, when you go to Heaven,
it will be a surprise reward.

THE BIG CONTRADICTION
BETWEEN JUDGMENT & FORGIVENESS

JUDGMENT TO COME

BELIEF GOD FORGAVE
US ALL

The big contradiction, between Judgment & Forgiveness,
is that their cause-&-effect lines run in opposite directions.

Humbly doing good & not bad
causes
us to go to Heaven.

Gratitude for our new eternal life
causes
us to humbly do good & not bad.

Hence Judgment cannot be Forgiveness
and Forgiveness cannot be Judgment.

.

THE LESSER CONTRADICTIONS
BETWEEN JUDGMENT & FORGIVENESS

I reproduce, below, an earlier table
because it shows the lesser contradictions
between Judgment and Forgiveness.

.

JUDGMENT TO COME

BELIEF GOD FORGAVE
US ALL

Without mentioning Forgiveness,
Jesus said the following:

Without mentioning Judgment,
Jesus said the following:

God will accept or reject
any of us
according to
what we have done.

He’ll let no-one off
of anything.

We earn our way into Heaven.
Heaven is a reward.

God will accept or reject
any of us
according to
our belief in Jesus.

He’ll let believers off
of everything.

We are freely let into Heaven,
Heaven is not a reward.

God will, in the end, choose
only those who, in this life,
humbly did good & not bad.

This is regardless of
their religion or lack of it.

God will, in the end, choose
only those who, in this life,
believed God Forgave us all.

This is regardless of
the good or bad they’ve done.

THE CONTRADICTIONS
WITHIN JUDGMENT & FORGIVENESS

As well as:
            the big contradiction
            between Judgment and Forgiveness

And:
            the lesser contradictions
            between Judgment and Forgiveness

there is also:

            a contradiction within Judgment:

Most people have done varying amounts
                       of both good and bad.

                       So Judgment,
God Judging us according to what we have done,
would be, for those not quite good enough,
too unjust for a just God to do.

                       So Judgment is impossible.

            and a contradiction within Forgiveness:

                       God will send, to Hell,
                       those who’ve simply never heard/read/seen
                       the gospel convincingly presented.

That would be too unjust for a just God to do.

                       So Forgiveness, too, is impossible.
